X ray technicians carry out with x ray examinations and other tasks. They also get patients prepped for the exam. They must also understand radiation and which materials let radiation through so that they can have patients who are wearing non conducive items like jewelry and clothes.
Also, knowing how to use the machines in vital. A technician will know how to position the machine to get the required image while ensuring no other parts are exposed to radiation. All this is part of the training in addition to general medicine classes.

This can go up to $ 70,000 and even more so in private institutions. It is also possible to rise to managerial positions.
Certificate, diploma, associate degree and Bachelors degree are the qualifications one can choose to go for. The courses are taken for one to four years depending on which one is chosen. Schools have varying entry requirements. Most will want good scores in SAT English, Math and Science SAT. Boost your chances of getting in by applying to more than one whose requirements you satisfy.
Medical work experience is a plus. Volunteer in a hospital or clinic to get the experience of the environment and handling patients. Working with x ray machines may not be allowed since you do not know how to use them but any kind of medical work experience will be a plus. You can even request that you work in the radiology department which would be most beneficial.
Note that most schools will require that you take and pass a medical test. Take time to follow a fitness regime even as you make applications.
